Rhodiola Rosea

What Is Rhodiola Rosea?

Rhodiola is an herb known for its “adaptogenic” properties (reducing exhaustion and fatigue in prolonged stressful situations). It promotes clear and calm thinking even under stressful conditions. Rhodiola helps to strengthen both mental and physical stress resistance, while also supporting healthy brain function.

Overall, rhodiola is used to improve memory, learning, mental processing of information, attention span, work capacity, and even mood.

How Does Rhodiola Rosea Work?

Rhodeola has been shown to stimulate and maintain our cognition related neurotransmitters (norepinephrine, dopamine, and serotonin). Rhodeola also has antioxidant properties that can help with age related cognitive decline. Furthermore, this herb also blunts the release of cortisol, which is our stress hormone.

But What Are The Benefits Of Me Taking Rhodiola??

There is strong evidence that rhodiola reduces fatigue fairly strongly when taken at a low dose for a prolonged period of time, or at a high dose when taken acutely. Studies show that the effects of rhodiola begin within 30 minutes of intake and may last for up to 6 hours.

There is also strong evidence that rhodiola can improve subjective well being secondary to the reduction in fatigue

Where is the Proof For All These Great Benefits?!

One study was done in which healthy individuals between the ages of 24-35 took 170 mg of rhodiola for 2 weeks. This study showed rhodiola to improve their performance on work related tasks by 20% [1].

Another study was done in individuals ages 30-65 given 200 mg of rhodiola twice per day for 4 weeks. At the end of the 4 weeks, they saw significant improvements in social and work function as secondary to having reductions in fatigue and improvements in mood. This study also noted reduced fatigue associated with stress. This was in a time-dependent manner, increasing each week [2].

A meta-analysis was done on 11 studies on performance. This analysis saw consistent benefits in the time to exhaustion (reduction in perception of tiredness) in physical activity. It also saw increased mental performance under periods of stress [3].

A study done on military cadets ages 19-21 performing regular military night duties showed a significant reduction in fatigue and improvement in well-being [4].

NEURO(X) contains 400mg of rhodiola rosea so that you can maintain your energy and focus all day long! This helps keep you on top of your game even under stressful and fatiguing circumstances.
